The UTD-OSPO is committed to accelerating innovation and ensuring reproducibility in scientific studies.
Through initiatives like the Artificial Intelligence Integration (AAII) Institute and the Computer Science Students FOSS group, the UTEP OSPO will empower researchers and students to contribute to global open source communities while advancing local projects.

The UTEP OSPO is part of the Texas-OSPO network of Open Source Program Offices across the University of Texas system. Texas-OSPO will act as a centralized resource to offer open source best practices and to provide training and consultation services across its campuses, while connecting a systemwide community of researchers and developers.
